A time for New Zeal.

So. Today, the journey begins… Today, I board a plane that will take me across the world to a different place. And I am so ready for what the Author of Life has planned for this next chapter in my life.  In a few hours, I will board with my team, ,and thirty hours after that, I will reunite with my suitcase filled with sweaters, leggings, and gloves in Wellington, New Zealand. In case you are unaware, (as I was when I felt called to this trip), this "summer" in New Zealand is actually winter. So God is literally bringing me into a new...

And So The Journey Begins

Training camp has been such a fun and awesome preparation for the months ahead. I have already started to grow so much spiritually, and it feels amazing. My team is also super cool and awesome!! We are all so stoked and on fire about getting to New Zealand and spreading our fire for God to the people there. It has been so much fun getting to know each and every one of them and I am excited to learn more about them.  My favorite part of training camp has been the worship services; I just feel so close to God while singing to him in praise. I am just so on fire for God and...

Gotta Get Goin…

In all honesty, it feels as if I have been on this college campus in Georgia for more than four days now. I can’t even stifle my excitement because we are FINALLY leaving for New Zealand tomorrow! I have realized these past few days that I needed to be here at training camp before I could head out on our mission so that God could fully restore and heal my heart through His unfailing love that can weave into the tiniest and darkest of places within my heart where it feels as if the light has not broken through in a very long time. He has reminded me and confirmed to me that he really...

He Is Better

My experience thus far at Passport training camp can be summed up in three words: He is better. He is better than spending my summer my way. He is better than sleeping in and spending my days tanning by the pool. He is better than hanging out with my friends and family. He is better than living in my comfort zone. Now, none of these things are bad things. In fact, they’re all good things, but right now at this point in my life, they are not His highest for me. And where I’m at in my life, I need His highest. I cannot settle for anything less. The Lord began to open the door for...

In a world filled with women…

Well. The Lord has done so much since the beginning of training camp. For one thing, I did not realize that having a team with six girls and me as the only guy was going to be challenging. I didn’t think that I’d be insecure about me filling in the manly role of the group, but in the end, I was terrified. By the third day of training the Lord broke those chains of fear and now I love my group. The Lord has even increased our group’s passion for New Zealand. Beyond the prophetic readings I’ve seen in scripture, the excitement from my team has increased a yearning for...

The Adventure Before The Mission

The past 4 days at training camp have been crazy. We've been trained to be missionaries, by missionaries. We've heard from people who've been overseas dozens of times and are speaking from experience as they encourage and advise us, the rookies.  We've talked with God, heard from God, given praise and glory to God. We've made instant friends because we're supposed to, but it was easy and could've happened anyway, and I know that soon these friends are going to become family. We've already seen God at work and we haven't even left the country yet....
