team update

Some of you have heard the news that an earthquake hit off the coast of New Zealand's North Island yesterday.  We received the following report:

An undersea earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 struck off the coast of New Zealand’s North Island on 3 July 2012. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 2236 local time (1036 UTC) and was centered approximately 107 mi/172 km northwest of Wellington at a depth of 146 mi/236 km. The tremor was felt across the North Island and the northern coast of the South Island. There have been no reports of any significant damage or casualties, although residents in Whanganui reported seeing some cracks in buildings. No tsunami alert was issued, as authorities stated that there was little threat the quake could have produced a destructive wave.

The important thing for you to know is that we have spoken directly with the team and although they did feel the earthquake, they are perfectly safe and currently sleeping soundly.  We'll continue to monitor the situation, but it seems like damage across New Zealand was minimal and the team remains safe where they are.

Thank you for all your support and prayers for this team!  They are felt and appreciated!
