Instruments of Righteousness

This past week has been A M A Z I N G.  It was the first of two consecutive kids camps at El Rancho. My team served in the kitchen, helped teach lessons, encouraged and supported cabin leaders and staff, and ran activities for the kids as well as hung out and prayed for them. It was exhausting getting up at 6am and going to bed at 12am for 5 days straight, but God was faithful in providing strength and energy and changing the lives of these kids as well as leaders. The kids camp went very smoothly and many kids accepted Christ. For those that did not, we can be confident that seeds were planted.

My team had quite a crazy week that began with some major attacks from the enemy as far as moral and sickness. But praise God who has really come through and has been so good in healing all of us.

A few of us on my team helped put together some information packs for fundraising for an orphanage in Nepal, which one of the staff members at El Rancho is in charge of. Each camp leader received a pack in hopes that they will take it back home and do some fundraising themselves. The kids at camp also learned about the orphanage and made some crafts and a banner to send to the kids in Nepal. It was so awesome to see the kids wanting to help out others less fortunate.

A verse I shared with the camp leaders this week has now become one of my main verses for the rest of this trip. In Romans 6:13 it says “…offer every part of yourself as an instrument of righteousness.” This is my prayer—that I will have the strength and desire to offer ALL of myself to God and work hard at everything. Or as in the words of another motto we had this week: go hard or go home!

Please keep this next kids camp in your prayers. Pray that God will open the hearts of these kids and that He will strengthen the new batch of leaders coming to serve. Pray that we will all have renewed strength and energy each day this week to serve wholeheartedly. Thank you!
