When I arrived at the airport I was so nervous. I was asking God, Are you sure you what me to go? Are you sure this is not pointless? My group going to New Zealand is amazing. In the beginning we were so awkward, but after getting to know each other better we have been growing closer to Christ together. At the training camp that we were at I was disconnected from my family and friends. Being disconnected from my life back home has really helped me get closer to Christ without distractions. The first night staying at the camp we were given a mission. We needed to pick three items to take with us because we were not seeing out suitcases for the rest of the evening. My group is a selfless group. All of us thought what would be the best for the whole group. For example, we only brought only three sleeping bags for eleven of us. Our team of eleven people (the twelfth person, Justin, was at home at a family commitment) slept under a tarp for the entire night. The amazing thing about that night is that we all connected as a family that night. I thought training camp was silly at first, but I figured out when people are going to the nations need to get away and talk to God before they go on the mission field. Training camp has really helped me closer to God and figure out what I need to do in New Zealand. Our New Zealand team has been getting amazing responses from people. Larissa, who has the gift of prophecy told us that we are going to change New Zealand and how we are going to start a ripple effect together. It’s going to be like a wave and it’s going to spread. She started to taking to the team about their gifts that they are bring to New Zealand. When she started talking to me, she paused for a minute and then starting talking, ” O, girl. You have no idea what power you have. You can’t be so quiet anymore. You are going to shake they grounds when you speak. Even when you whisper the devil is afraid. To this group you are the truth. You will be the loudest voice in your group. ” She truly does have a true gift and God has really blessed her with a gift. God is amazing and he is going to de great things in the months to come.
