Sweet As, Mate

I'm not really the writing type, but we are supposed to blog every week, so I will probably be posting a lot of pictures! The past week and a half has been just amazing. It feels like we've been here a month and it's barely been a week. We are already having a blast serving and meeting amazing new people and experiencing a different but beautiful other culture. There are really too many things to talk about for me to put it all in a blog post, so I'm gonna give y'all a summary of our week and put up some photos, because a picture's worth a thousand words. ...

You Might Not Get Tomorrow

This week, my team and I had an amazing opportunity to travel to Wellington and do some gardening work for an amazing family. Neil and his wife, Olivia, are a beautiful couple just full of the Holy Spirit and they radiate God’s love and mercy. Their yard has been needing some work for a while now that they just don’t have the time and resources to do themselves. They tried hiring help but the gardener never showed up. So six of us Americans and a couple of Kiwis got out our shovels, pickaxes, and chisels and got to work.   We had a great time laughing while pulling giant...

Rearranging the Lawn is the latest feng shui

So far, the Lord has been doing so much! This week, I got to share my testimony at a church, which was so cool. It was rad to see the Lord move in that place and just feel a sense of community there. Today, the team went to this guy’s house, who is sick and his family wanted their garden cleaned up a bit. Despite the Chicago-windy winds, it was awesome to see the improvement of the yard. We even had far too many laughs that most likely has given me rock-hard abs. Overall, I am still madly in love with New Zealand and I can’t wait to see the Lord continue to explode with His...

“Don’t Knock It Until You Try It”

First off, I would like to state that New Zealand is beautiful. BEAUTIFUL. To quote my teammate, Sara, God must have been in a wonderful mood when He made this country, because it is breathtaking. And I haven’t even begun sightseeing. We’ve spent most of our time at our campsite, El Rancho in Waikanae. During my time here, one phrase keeps being repeated: “don’t knock it until you try it”. Eating kiwi fruit with the skin on? Don’t knock it until you try it. Preaching in front of a bunch of strangers? Don’t knock it until you try it. Living without a...

It’s like a party in your mouth and everyone is invited!

So New Zealand is AMAZING!!! It is so beautiful and the people are all very nice and hospitable. My team and I are all very blessed to be working with El Rancho, the staff are all full of Gods love which is really cool. I am so happy to be here, and share Gods love with the kiwis of New Zealand. These next two months are going to be amazing, and God is going to wreck New Zealand and wreck our team as well. I am learning so much about myself each and everyday, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for me when I get back home. I have discovered these amazing things called Tim Tam...
