Let it Rain

Hello Friends and Family! It has now been about 3 weeks into our trip and can I say God is moving mightily! One thing God has been showing me is that I need Him to "rain/reign" in my life, hence the title Let It Rain.  This has been our team slogan since training camp and I was asked the question, what does Let It Rain, mean to me? I prayed about it, that God would show me what exactly it means, to me. As we all know, it rains a lot in New Zealand, especially this time of year! It is also really really cold. I began to get frustrated because I was so cold every day and I was...

Lately…

As most of you probably know by now, we spent the last week or so in ChristChurch (on the south island) helping with earthquake damage.  We shoveled wheelbarrows upon wheeelbarrows full of liquefaction in the cold AND wet. I'll be honest, not exactly my idea of fun. But we didn't go there for a vacation. Although shoveling dirt for a week was hard work, the hardest part for me wasn't physical labor. You see, the liquefaction lifts up under houses and in between cement causing houses to lean. It ruins foundations completely. The last day we were there, the Prime...

CHCH

To Christchurch: We came to bring you hope to you who have been shaken who had the very ground disapear beneath you to you who have been steadily broken time and time and time again.  September shook your foundations, February broke your backs.  And this Monday wrecked your spirits.  We came to show you that hope is not in the physical.  That peace is in the unbreakable spiritual. In turn you showed us what hopelessness is You showed us what fear is You showed us what anxiety is You showed us what frustration is You showed us what it is to feel what you feel  And...

Love in Action!

I will just say that the last week and a half has been absolutley incredible as we have seen and experienced some of the most beautiful terrain God ever created!  Up to this point we have been in Waikanae in the North Island staying at a Christian family camp called El Rancho.  The team has jumped head first into the ministry of cleaning up and painting some of the buildings at the camp to get them ready for upcoming events.  As I'm sure most of you have heard, there were several earthquakes that hit a very weary Christchurch in the last week.  A trip to...

team is safe

Hello parents and friends of team New Zealand, We just wanted to let you know that we've talked to the team leaders today and the team is all safe and sound and doing well in New Zealand.  Some of you may have heard of some earthquakes in New Zealand, however they were several hours from where the team is located.  We just wanted to keep you posted that the area they're in was not affected.   Blessings, Real Life Field Support Team

There Must Be Something in the Wind

Disclamer: This was written June 6. We have been in NZ for a bit now, and more on that will come later.  “And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.”  Acts 1:19.   I know a God who works in the physical: a spiritual being who chooses to speak and move in ways tangible to a skeptical human.  In the past three days, I have experienced—alongside a family I did not know I had—this God move in the elements.  (Read my teammates blogs, I am sure some of the amazing...
