New Zealand, what am amazing place to be. I have been experiencing God in a way that I haven't really ever experienced him before. This trip has been a journey of listening. From the beginning god told me to shut up and be still. This is something that can be difficult for someone who loves to talk. I started praying before even coming on this trip that I can see God in a new way and I will be able to experience him in a way that I never really have.
So I have been slowing down and listening more, and big surprise God shows up. He starts talking and sharing little bits of himself to you. God is taking the time to talk to me and share with me his plans! How neat is that?! Although God did not just call us to listen he told us to act in his word. I thought that hearing The Lord was my new experience in him but he had a bigger plan than I could have expected.
He wanted to push me a little further and call for action. I didn't like that very much because my flesh doesn't like to be uncomfortable but I prayed to be uncomfortable so he said bring on the growth. I am slowly learning that his ways are perfect and exciting.
So after listening to him our team has been acting on what he said. We are traveling for twelve days across the north island of New Zealand with just the knowledge that God put us here and he is going to show up. We are just going to listen and act. Scary right? That's what I said but it is amazing how The Lord takes the fear that doesn't come from him and replaces it with peace and confidence when we act according to his will.
So what started out as fear is now a joy and excitement to see him work in ways only he could. So we are praying we have open minds and open ears to see where his path leads and know wherever it goes will be perfect. He has already gone before us to plan this trip out so by relying on him to lead we don't have to have any fear or hesitation.
We know that The Lord will provide food, shelter, and the people he has prepared for us to minister to and love on. There is going to be change on this trip. Change in how we experience God. Change in the way we walk with God. But also change in the hearts of the people of New Zealand which so desperately need the hope and peace that only comes from God!
This way of experiencing God is exciting!
